I have been using the stand for a year now. Before that I used to sit at the computer for long hours without a break, which caused a slipped disc in my back and then I couldn’t sit at all for about six months.
Nowadays, I alternate between sitting and standing. It took me a little while to get used to the idea of writing and thinking while standing, but because the stand is so comfortable, and can be adjusted perfectly to my height, and supports a lot of my weight (as opposed to just standing at a high table which really isn’t good for you or comfortable for long periods…), and allows me to change position whenever I like – I now work for hours at the stand without even noticing that I’m on my feet.
I could go back to sitting if I wanted to, but I have decided to buy the stand and continue to use it. I’d rather choose the healthier way to work and prevent my next back injury.
